FanVerse ("we", "us") is an interactive-fiction reading app. This policy explains what we collect and why. We designed FanVerse to keep your reading on your device wherever possible.
No account, local-first storage
You can read FanVerse without creating an account. The name you read as, your story progress, your choices, and your coin balance are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your reading history to build a profile of you.
Story content and AI-continued passages
FanVerse's worlds are original creations. When you use an AI-continued passage, the story context needed to write the next passage is sent to our story service and its AI provider solely to generate prose to return to you. These requests do not include your real identity and are processed transiently to produce a result, not to profile you.
Analytics and diagnostics
We use PostHog to collect anonymous, aggregated usage events (for example, that a chapter was opened) to improve the app, and Sentry to receive crash and performance reports. These do not include your real name or the personal choices you make inside a story.
Purchases
Coins and the FanVerse+ subscription are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your purchase and subscription status (active / inactive) but never your payment card details.
Advertising and measurement
To understand how people discover FanVerse and to measure the performance of our advertising, we use AppsFlyer (a mobile measurement partner) together with advertising platforms such as Meta, TikTok and Google. For this purpose these partners may process your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and limited app-usage events (such as installing the app or starting a subscription). On iOS we ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking takes place — if you decline, this advertising identifier is not used, and declining does not limit any reading feature. You can change your choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data. There is no public profile and no social feed. We do not require your real name, email, or contacts to read.
Third-party services
Our story service & AI provider (passage generation), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (crash reporting), RevenueCat & Apple (purchases), AppsFlyer (attribution) and advertising partners (Meta, TikTok, Google). Each processes only the limited data described above.
Data retention & deletion
Your reading, choices, and coin balance live on your device — deleting the app removes them. Transient generation requests are not retained as a personal record. To request deletion of any analytics or attribution data tied to your device, email us.
Age
FanVerse contains mature romantic themes and is intended for readers 17 and older. Content is held to a fade-to-black ceiling and is never sexually explicit. It is not directed to children.
